National Environmental Impact Assessment System (SINEIA)
What are we doing?
As co-managers of the Marine National Park of the Bay Islands (PNMIB), Port Royal National Park, and Turtle Harbour, BICA plays a significant role in assessing projects in the Bay Islands. We are part of the National Environmental Impact Assessment System (SINEIA), intending to promote sustainable development, protect the environment, and ensure compliance with environmental legislation on the islands.
Why are we doing this?
Given that construction or anthropogenic activities within the Marine National Park of the Bay Islands (PNMIB) can lead to irreversible environmental impacts, we conduct meetings with construction managers, hotel services, restaurants, etc. During these meetings, we focus on inspecting their surroundings, suggesting recommendations to mitigate adverse environmental impacts, and complying with environmental legislation.
How can you support us?
If you come across operational hotels or restaurants releasing pollutants, please call and suggest conducting a SINEIA assessment to evaluate the environmental impact of their actions.
You can reach us at +504-9796-9956. Also, contact the relevant authorities before undertaking any projects (construction) or activities within the Marine National Park of the Bay Islands.
