Juan Miguel
Galdamez Tejada
Resource Guard Technician, Guanaja
My name is Juan Miguel Galdamez Tejada, born in Tocoa Colón. I graduated with a technical high school diploma in hospitality and tourism from the Emma Romero de Callejas Institute. I also earned my divemaster degree with the Ocean Protectors project, sponsored by BICA. I am passionate about nature, ecosystems, and their biodiversity. Since I was a child, I have enjoyed working for the conservation and protection of marine natural resources.
I have worked on reforestation and direct seeding projects of red mangroves, as well as on lobster and snail monitoring, seagrass beds, and the lobster shadow project. I have also worked on the protection of sea turtles that arrive each year on the coast of Guanaja and on working with the marine and coastal resources found in the Bay Islands National Marine Park.
