Roberto Argueta
Project Coordinator, Guanaja
My name is Roberto Kendall Argueta, originally from the island of Guanaja. I studied Biology at the National Autonomous University of Honduras. From an early age, while growing up on the island, I discovered a deep passion for the environmental world, both terrestrial and marine. Over time, I observed with concern the deterioration and lack of protection of our natural resources, which motivated me to dedicate myself to study and actively work for the conservation of Guanaja. At the beginning of 2025, I started scuba diving, which allowed me to become more directly involved in marine conservation and strengthen my commitment to underwater ecosystems. In addition, one of my favorite hobbies is bird watching, an activity that has helped me to further deepen my knowledge and appreciation of local biodiversity. Currently, I work as a monitoring and research technician for the Bay Island Conservation Association (BICA), where I actively contribute to the protection and sustainable management of the natural resources of the Bay Islands.
