Suita Fanely Narváez
Research Coordinator and Program Technician, Utila
Degree in biology, with more than three years of experience in the management of marine-coastal resources on the island of Utila, developing and leading conservation ecology projects with the spiny-tailed black iguana (Ctenosaura bakeri), seagrasses, wetlands; currently developing the monitoring protocol to analyze the current conservation status of the Spiny Lobster (Panulirus argus) and Queen Conch (Lobatus gigas), as well as developing coral restoration projects and citizen science work with fishing communities.
The island of Utila has allowed me to have a personal and professional growth, boosting my research career, achieving a broad learning of the resources and collaborative work with communities to strengthen conservation programs. This has made me enthusiastic to continue learning and supporting little by little the protection of natural resources.
