ECOME
What we are doing?
We are carrying out post-larvae monitoring activities of reef fish in the Mesoamerican Reef System (MAR), specifically on the island of Guanaja, within the Bay Islands National Marine Park. These activities involve the identification and assessment of larvae of reef fish species in the marine environment.
Why do we do it?
We do this with the purpose of better understanding the dynamics and health of reef ecosystems in the MAR, as well as to guide the management and conservation of these important natural resources. Monitoring reef fish larvae allows us to assess marine biodiversity and the health of critical habitats, which is critical for the long-term conservation of these ecosystems.
How you can help?
You can contribute to our conservation activities in several ways:
Sustainable Practices
Adopt sustainable fishing practices and respect local regulations to contribute to the conservation of marine resources.
Participation
Join beach and reef clean-up activities to reduce marine pollution and protect coastal ecosystems.
Promote Marine Conservation
Disseminate information about the importance of marine conservation among your community and promote actions that contribute to the protection of marine ecosystems.
Donate
Contribute financially or volunteer to marine conservation initiatives, such as marine species monitoring programs and habitat restoration.
